Our award winning Missfire Gin.

Tasting Notes.

Our silver award winning Missfire Gin has been designed to be accessible to all drinkers looking to try something new, balanced yet complex, Missfire offers a suite of welcome surprises. A good fit-for purpose gin, that goes against the grain.

Notes of fresh pineapple, lingering flavours of rose petal, the delicate scent of Juniper. All of these and many more come together to create a truly unique and vibrant gin designed to captivate the senses. Elevate with a slice of cucumber or orange slice.

The Process.

Missfire Gin is made first from the distillation of a neutral spirit, this is then distilled again through our column still with a series of rich Australian and tropical botanicals.

Then, we let the flavours of our gin meld together over a period of 5 weeks, in order to get the most balanced and flavourful spirit possible. Finally, once this is complete our gin gets bottled and sent out to be enjoyed, whether that’s with tonic, on the rocks, or straight up.

Our New Range.

Waxed Dry Gin.

A modern take on a classic dry. Guaranteed not to sting.

Tasting Notes.

This gin packs a strong but manageable punch, starting with a hit of juniper but opening up to orange and citrus notes at the end of each sip. The beeswax provides a silky-smooth texture that makes this gin a pleasure to drink.

Perfect for those who want more modern take on a classic dry.

The Process.

Our waxed gin is made in one of our smaller gin stills, with our botanicals being steeped in our neutral spirit before distillation. This is what allows the beeswax to shine through in texture. Like all our gins, once distilled they are left to sit in a sealed vat until the gin forms a stable flavour profile that we’re happy with. Then, it is bottled and shipped to you.

Ruby Gin.

A raspberry gin, thats been dressed to impress.

Tasting Notes.

This gin hits you with a raspberry right up the front and back with bold raspberry flavours throughout. This makes it good in a cocktail, or with some ice.

Perfect for those who want a sweet sipper thats easy to get down, or for the berry aficionado.

The Process.

Our raspberry gin is one of the most complex gins to make here at Loaded Barrel. This is because we use french raspberry in combination with cinnamon, lemon myrtle and a small amount of apple. This neutral spirit is then macerated with hibiscus, which helps it hold its bold red but natural red colour. Finally its distilled, then sits until the flavour is consistent, and then gets shipped to you.

Saphire Gin.

A gin thats a bit different, made to make your senses flutter with apple, cinnamon & Lavender.

Tasting Notes.

This gin starts off sweet with apple and cinnamon at the front, progressing into a more sensible floral lavender & pea flower finish.

Perfect for those who want something a bit different, with a varied and complex palate thats still simple enough to understand.

The Process.

Our Saphire gin is made with pea flower and lavender steeping in our neutral spirit. The pea flower is what gives it its natural blue colour. This spirit is then distilled with apple and cinnamon sticks in the botanical basket, creating this bold brew. This is then left to meld in a vat until the flavours are consistent, and then bottled for shipping.

The Why.

Whilst our distillery has been built around whisky, we are also gin drinkers and appreciate the subtleties of a good gin.

So at the end of the day, we knew we would be creating gin at some stage. Over 18 months were spent honing our recipe and flavour profile of Missfire gin, which was then scaled up from micro to small batch production. We re-engineered our column-still to reign in the flavours and the consistency of aromas that we were after.

Our other gins followed suit, taking an immense amount of time the development process to ensure we actually had something that was worth buying in the competitive landscape.
